The project is jointly funded by Tangshan Port Group, Shougang Group, and Tangshan Baoye Iron & Steel Group, and constructed by Huadian Heavy Industries Co. It is a bulk material handling system for loading, unloading, stacking, reclaiming, transferring, and conveying at the terminal, with a designed annual handling capacity of 35 million tons, and an actual throughput that has reached 40.5 million tons.

The project used equipment including: The system comprises 20 belt conveyors with a belt width of 1800mm, a maximum conveying capacity of 8,600t/h, a total installed length of 11,644 m, and a combined installed power of 18,440 kW. The installation includes six stackers with a rated capacity approaching 10000t/h each, and employs a fixed-unloading-point configuration in which a single belt conveyor is connected in series with three transfer towers.
